Day 13 - Glacier to Libby
Went hiking today starting at Sunrift Gorge and ending at St Mary’s Falls.  Not a strenuous hike, probably about 5 miles round trip, but the views along St Mary Lake were fantastic.  There are signs posted warning you as you hike saying “You are entering Grizzly country - bears have injured and killed visitors”, which of course makes you feel nice and safe.  But I saw no bears and no mountain lions just nice views of the lake, mountains and falls. Take a look at the pictures but keep in mind that they can’t come close to really portraying what its like to be standing in the park experiencing them in person.
So at about 6 pm I suddenly decided I did not feel like staying the night so I packed up and headed farther west.  I ended up stopping here in a small town called Libby, MT.  Its definitely tiny and has about one bar so it was easy to decide where to go for the night.  I went to the one bar called ‘Pastime Saloon’ which has supposedly been serving beer since 1916.  They had a band playing called ‘Out on Bail’ who was entertaining but besides that the night was fairly uneventful.  Drank some more Moose Drool and Fat Tire and retired for the night.  Bummer in the summer.
