KEYSTONE NATIVE FINISHES FIFTH; FUTURE UNCERTAIN

Keystone
Native broke from the 10th post and set the early pace in race 9 at
Philadelphia Park on Sunday, May 13.
After setting early fractions of 22.21 and 45.80 he eventually tired in
the stretch and finished a decent fifth behind three favorites and a semi-long
shot. Without having seen the race
I donÕt know what the diagnosis will be for the young whippersnapper. Ideally they had wanted to race him in
a 5 furlong race which certainly would have suited him better than this 6
furlong affair. He appears to have
run a better race than his previous starts before the gelding but I donÕt know
if it was improved or encouraging enough to keep him in training. I will have to wait to hear from West
Point to get some feedback from them and trainer Guadalupe Preciado. For now, I
wait.

Thoroughbreds (the management company handling the young gelding) regarding
his brief but storied career thus far.
